Over the past several years, high protein, low carb diets have gained a lot of popularity, but the truth is carbohydrates should be an essential part of your diet. They provide important nutrients, vitamins and provide your body with the fuel it needs to get through the day. The trick is to know what carbs are good for you and what carbs are bad for you. That is where the Glycemic Index comes in.

According to Wikipedia, the Glycemic Index, or GI, is the measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood sugar levels. Basically, what this means is how your body is able to convert carbohydrates into glucose.
Glucose is a sugar that is found in your blood, hence the term, blood sugar. The GI is based on a scale of 0-100, with pure glucose (which is a reference point on the scale) scoring 100.

Your body feels best when your blood sugar remains constant.

If your blood sugar becomes too low, your body becomes lethargic and you get hungry. If your blood sugar becomes high, your brain signals your pancreas to release more insulin. By doing this, the insulin brings your blood sugar down. At the same time that this is happening, your body is converting the excess sugar into stored fat.

Now, if gaining and storing excess fat isn’t bad enough for you, it can get worse! Those persons with diabetes, both type 1 and type 2, are at a greater risk. Their bodies are unable to process or secret any insulin at all, thus, forcing them to take medication to control their blood sugar levels.

This also puts them at risk for additional health risks. Why is all of this important? By knowing and monitoring your GI, you will be able to stay in better health, thus feeling better and avoiding many health risks.

However, the Glycemic Index alone is not the only important factor.

Many times, the amount of food that you are consuming gets overlooked. You must pay attention to the serving size! When these two parts are combined and managed, then you have much more control over your GI.

Foods that score 55 and below are low on the Glycemic Index are usually good for you. Most fruits and vegetables fall into this category, although you need to pay attention to the size of the food. Foods that score 70 and above are high on the GI and are not good for you. These types of foods include: white bread, potatoes, chips, candy, and pasta. Foods such as bananas and watermelon are high on the Glycemic Index, but do have many health benefits. Eat them sparingly.

How do you monitor your GI? You can always carry around a list of where your favorite foods stand on the GI in case you need to check before you make a choice. Generally, the rule of thumb is to avoid too many carbohydrates. Do not sit down and eat a bag of potato chips, or make a loaf of toast! Of course, there is nothing wrong with eating one serving of carbs at each meal, but again, pay attention to the serving size.

The reason that monitoring your carbohydrate intake works is because that information is readily available on labels, whereas the GI is not. It will take some time to learn where foods stand on the list, but it is well worth the investment. After all, it is your health and well being that is the number one priority. If you are feeling your best, you can do anything! Isn’t it worth your time to make sure?

Web hosting is no longer the same with the availability of greater bandwidth, more memory and more computing resources. Today, powerful and high performance resources are also available within a lesser budget and there is no need to buy a dedicated server to get better resources. Gone are the days when a business was required to spend oodles of cash if it wanted sufficient computing resources by leasing their own server. With the rise of Windows VPS, every business can now afford it.
Windows VPS Hosting
Shared hosting succeed its goals by separating a server into many or even hundreds of entities – giving the illusion of distinct servers where is originally only one. When, this illusion is not complete. There are various restrictions on shared hosting accounts which betray the underlying structure. In addition, the presence of so many different clients on the same server slows down the performance and even a single customer whose application misbehaves is capable to ruin the performance of everyone else’s.
Windows VPS on the another hand utilize virtualization to split a server into distinct virtual segments in such a way that the illusion is complete. Every virtual server is indiscernible from a real standalone server and since the number of such divisions is restricted, there are ample resources for everybody unlike those in shared hosting. In addition, no single user can affect the performance of the anothers in the least. Even the IP addresses are different with each virtual server receiving a static IP.
Windows IIS7 Server
Utilizing Windows VPS, you get the powerful Windows IIS7 web server. It is ease of utilize, stability, customization, and security. Utilizing IIS7, web admin can run applications in PHP just as simple as they can on a Linux server utilizing the FastCGI plugin. In addition, IIS7 includes powerful new features for the delivery of media content such as live video streaming and the ability to dynamically deliver different qualities of video depending on the bandwidth of the receiving system.
Windows VPS is probably the best and vary important hosting solution for a small to medium sized business. Most do not want the full fledged dedicated solutions which can get quite costly, and the flaws in shared hosting make it totally untenable. VPS Hosting provide the best of both worlds, namely great performance at an affordable price.

Filters

Filters are one of the coolest and my favorite feature that Gmail has to offer. If you setup Filters properly, they can provide real ease in email management. Filters help you saving time and space when it comes to unwanted emails in your inbox, and introduce you to multi-functionality of Gmail. As per my understanding no other email service provides feature like Filters. Filter has two parts in first one you setup a query and in second part you decide what to do with mails that showed up as a result or even in future. Filters can be little frustrating if you don’t know how to make them work properly. In this article I will try to explain Filters, and how they can make your life easier by cutting many jobs to be done manually.

Steps

Click on Settings Link on top right corner of your Gmail account.

Click on Filters tab to open it, if you don’t setup any filters yet then it’s going to be a blank page.

Find yourself create a new filter link; click it to create a new filter.

You will be taken to next page; here you can see five input boxes labeled as From, To, Subject, Has the Words, Doesn’t have, one check box labeled as Has Attachment and three buttons labeled as Cancel, Test Search and Next Step.

This is it; now you have to build some query and test it to ensure its working properly.

From Field:

The From Field is to deal with mails you getting from one or more source.

For instance if you are getting lots of forwarded mails from different email id(s), you can put those email id(s) in From Field and do whatever you want to do with them. You can assign Label, Archive or even delete without even looking at them.

To Field:

This field can be used for both incoming and outgoing mails.

If you want to create a filter for mail addressing, this is a field where you have to add your id. If you want to handle outgoing mails to one or more ids you have to add that particular id here. When this step is done you can Label, Archive, Forward or even delete it.

Subject Field:

This field works as a search box, you can add word(s) or phrase and Gmail will keep a check on all mails.

Has the words and Doesn’t have Field:

You can add word(s) or phrase in this field and Gmail will search for given query in all mails.

Has Attachment Check box:

Click and you will be able to see only mails that have attachments with them.

When you have your query built simply click Test Search to see they are working right or not. When you are done click Next Step button to proceed. Now you need to indicate an action to be implemented on the results. Gmail offers you seven different actions that you can apply. Since these are checkboxes, you can have one or more actions applied to the searched results. Furthermore, the actions are executed not only on new incoming messages but also on older ones residing in your inbox.

Actions to be chosen for Gmail filters

* Skip the Inbox: archive the email message

* Mark as read: marks the email message as read – does not appear in bold in your Inbox

* Star it

* Apply the label: Select and apply a label to the email message

* Forward it to: forwards the email message to another account that you specify

* Delete it: deletes the email message

* Never send it to Spam

Final Words

If you are subscriber of any mailing list you can make filter of it in just one click. This is what you have to do, open that message, click on show detail button, their you can see option of mailing list. In front of it you can see a link Filter messages from this mailing list, click and you will directed to filter page, here you can test search and then you are done with it. Do remember you can create Labels for newly created filter right their.

You can have as many email filters as you want in Gmail. However, going overboard would be a waste of time and resources. Gmail filters are there to help you managing emails and be more productive so use them wisely.

When it comes to jewellery necklaces the range offered by our jewellery for sale stores is rather extensive. These ornaments are available in various budgets, not to mention designs. You can easily buy silver necklaces, gold necklaces, platinum ones, plain ones, studded ones and many more. The types of necklaces available today are rather extensive. While some necklaces may be sold in a set form with a jewellery bracelet and a pair of earrings to match, others can be sold as individual pieces.

During the Roman era men and woman both were seen adoring necklaces, however, in today’s day and age the fairer sex seems more inclined towards these ornaments. However, this has in no way decreased the sales of necklaces or for that matter its position in the ornament industry.

Apart from these distinctions, jewellery necklaces are also divided according to their form.

Below are some such necklace style and what type of neck they will suit most –

Chokers – As the name goes these necklaces are worn very close to the neck or rather around it. The width of the necklace can be about three inches wide or even a thin line like form is common. These chokers look very nice when worn with a thick jewellery bracelet. Those with long necks can carry of this style very well, while those who have a thick neck or a short one should steer clear of these, since they tend to make the neck look even shorter.

Pendant forms – Here the necklace is more or less like a chain but the chain ends in a pendant like attachment but this is not detachable from the necklace as in the case of a pendant set. These necklaces work well for those who have short necks and do not want to wear a heavy necklace. In fact such jewellery is often worn for everyday use also since it does not look overwhelmingly decorative.

Loop forms- These are the most common types of necklaces that will be easily found in almost all jewellery for sale stores. These necklaces work for almost everyone, though those with a heavy chest should avoid them. Depending on personal preference one can choose the weight and thickness of the necklace. Elaborate necklaces of this sort should be reserved for special occasions, while even the less grand loop like necklaces is not really for everyday use. Of course the cost of these ornaments will depend largely on the material of the necklace and its design, but usually these loop type necklaces are not cheap in nature.

jewellery necklaces are known to make a person look very attractive. In fact it is true that by wearing one of these ornaments you can make even the drabbest garments come alive. However, if you pick a style that is not complimenting you or the clothes that you are wearing then it would be a waste of a necklace. So make sure you pick a style that suits you and not just any necklace that you can buy from a jewellery for sale store.
